An amplitude stabilization circuit (70) for fiber optic links (50) is disclosed that holds the RF gain of the link (50) constant despite optical parameter variations. A voltage variable attenuator (72) which attenuates DC and RF equally is placed between the link photodetector (60) and a load resistor (76). The voltage on the resistor (76) is compared with a reference voltage (80), and the comparison result is an error signal used in a feedback loop to control the attenuation of the attenuator (72). <IMAGE> |
