A sterilized cassette (1) and a transparent cover (2) for the cassette (1) are stored in sterile packaging (P). A sterilizing gas flows through the cassette (1) to maintain the operating field sterile while the cassette (1) is in place on the patient. The sterile packaging (P) may also contain a needle assembly (9). The cassette (1) assembly maintains the operating field sterile and free from contaminants before the needle (10) is inserted, while it is in place and during its removal. |
