<p>PURPOSE:To suppress the high temperature deterioration of a muffler by heat of reaction when secondary air is supplied into an exhaust system, and also reduce noise in the exhaust system. CONSTITUTION:The circumferential side of a muffler main body 1 is coated with a cover 2, and an exhaust nozzle 4a is faced to a defuser part 7a mounted in the muffler main body 1. Secondary air is take in the defuser part 7a after passing a space between the cover 2 and the muffler main body 1 by exacter effect when the secondary air is discharged from the exhaust nozzle 4a, and it is supplied to a noise eliminating chamber 1b. When the secondary air is passed through a space between the cover 2 and the muffler main body 1, the muffler main body 1 is cooled so as to suppress the high temperature deterioration of the muffler main body. Since a noise eliminating means 3 is interposed between the cover 2 and the muffler main body 1, expansion noise of exhaust gas is hardly radiated outword, and it is possible to reduce noise in the exhaust system.</p> |
