CIRCULAR POLARIZATION ANTENNA SYSTEM

A circular polarization antenna system has a thin cylindrical antenna body surrounded by a pair of parallel conductive disks short-circuited by a conductive ring at the peripheral portion of the disks so that spacing between said disks is less than wavelength, a plurality of helical antenna elements located on one of said disk, and a feed means coupled at center of the other disk. The antenna system has high gain because of the use of many helical antenna elements, and wide operational frequency band as the antenna elements are energized by travelling wave (TEM mode), while keeping small in size.
