<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a lightning-arrester type interphase spacer wherein an interphase short-circuit fault, a ground-fault accident or the like can be prevented effectively by a method wherein a lightning arrester for which a zinc oxide element provided with a nonlinear resistance characteristic is used as a current-limiting element is attached in parallel with an interphase spacer. CONSTITUTION:An interphase spacer 1 is constituted, to be a long-trunk insulator shape, of a ceramic, a high-molecular polymer or a composite material of them, the upper end of a lightning arrester 5 for which a zinc oxide element provided with a nonlinear resistance characteristic is used as a current-limiting element is supported by a horizontal support body 3 installed at the upper end part of the interphase spacer 1, and the lightning arrester is attached in parallel with the interphase spacer 1. When an overhead wire is struck by lightning and a potential is raised, the nonlinear resistance element for the lightning arrester 5 is set to a continuity state, a gap discharge is caused between an arcing horn 6 installed at the lightning arrester 5 and an arcing horn 4 installed at the interphase spacer 1, a rise in the potential is reduced, and no following current flows immediately after a lightning surge has passed. As a result, it is possible to effectively prevent an electric fault such as an interphase short-circuit fault, a ground-fault or the like due to a rise in the potential of the overhead wire.</p> |
