摘要 PURPOSE: To reduce manufacturing cost of an AC generator having such structure as the axial length is shortened by disposing a slip ring on the outside of housing by forming a rotor shaft having a slot for lead wire between the slip ring part and a rotor through cold heading work. CONSTITUTION: The shaft 20 of an AC generator 10 is provided with bearing lands 28, 30 at the opposite ends in the axial direction of a rotor land 26. The first bearing land 28 to be engaged with the inner race of a bearing 22 has a radially enlarged collar 32 and a slip ring part 34 is disposed at the shaft end closely to the first bearing land 28. The terminal 52 of the coil 18 of rotor 16 is connected, respectively, with slip rings 38, 40 through lead wires 54, 56 and the slots 58, 60 for the lead wires 54, 56 comprises axial parts 59, 61 extending along the first bearing land 28, and a radial part 62 extending radially through the collar 32. These slots 56, 60 are formed by cold heading work.
