THERMAL RECORDING METHOD AND INK SHEET THEREFOR

PURPOSE:To enhance the reliability of a device by using an intermediate recording medium reduced in change with the elapse of time and an ink sheet suitable therefor. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording apparatus is equipped with an intermediate recording medium 1 composed of a silicone rubber layer 10 with a thickness of 1mm or less, surface roughness of 5mum or less, a contact angle cosine of 0.4 or less, density of 0.90-1.15 and rubber hardness of 20-50 deg., a fixing roll 8 and a recording head 3. An ink sheet 2 wherein the viscosity of the colorant layer on a base material at 100 deg.C is 500-2000000cps is used. An ink image 11 is recorded on the intermediate recording medium to be transferred to recording paper to perform thermal recording.
