PURPOSE: To simplify calculation of a local image compression coefficient used for optimizing the extent of anti-aliasing filtering of a plane video image which is subjected to mapping from two dimensions to three dimensions and back to two dimensions. CONSTITUTION: A microprocessor 10 calculates constants A, B, and C for each frame or field in accordance with contents of a transformation matrix function F. Double accumulators 20, 30, and 40 execute a linear expression Cf=AXs+ BYs+C locally in the area of a field or a frame to generate a compression coefficient Cf (Xs and Ys are horizontal and vertical step addresses and A, B, and C are calculated constants). The cut-off frequency of a filter which filters a video signal is selected based on the calculated Cf. |
