PURPOSE:To obtain an optical switching module which is capable of performing a continuous and stable communication by using a reserve system signal processing module even if an active system signal processing module fails. CONSTITUTION:Four 2X2 optical switch elements 11, 12, 13, 14 are used for the optical switching module 2 within a communication node device 1. As a result, the signals from active system or reserve system optical fibers 31, 32, 33, 34 can be received by either active system or reserve system signal processing modules 3, 4, and, further, the signals from the active system or reserve system signal processing modules 3, 4 can be inserted into either the active system or reserve system optical fibers 31, 32, 33, 34. |
