PURPOSE:To ensure recovery of a performance and reduce waste ink by a method wherein in the device, such as a copying machine, when a defective ink delivery is detected even after an ink delivery recovery processing including a suction of ink in a recording head is carried out, a suction condition is changed and an ink delivery recovery processing is again carried out. CONSTITUTION:When a suction recovery instruction is issued to an MPU by a user or automatically, a suction means conducts a first suction recovery under a specified first sucking condition (sucking amount/suction negative pressure/negative pressure holding time). After the suction, wiping is carried out by a cleaning blade 5017, and preliminary delivery is conducted for removing unwanted ink from inside a nozzle. After that, a defective ink delivery is detected in accordance with a change of a detection temperature by a temperature sensor 2 of a delivery heater part 3. With the detection of a defective delivery, the suction condition is changed. A second suction recovery action is carried out under a second sucking condition. After the processing, wiping and preliminary delivery are similarly conducted. |
