PURPOSE:To provide an exhaust gas purifying device that is easily manufactured and has excellent durability by using a metallic honeycomb carrier for depositing an exhaust gas purifying catalyst, comprising at least three divided blocks, each of which contains a simple laminated structure consisting of flat sheets and corrugated sheets. CONSTITUTION:The metallic honeycomb carrier II comprises at least three divided blocks H1-Hn which are integrally joined to each other at the at least three dividing planes passing through the center HC of the metallic honeycomb carrier H, so as to obtain the metallic honeycomb carrier H having a desired cross-sectional shape. Further, each of the dividing planes, at which the divided blocks are joined integrally to each other, is formed by using the flat sheet 1 made of a thin metallic plate and bended at the center HC at a desired angle. As for the other members of the carrier, each of the divided blocks consists of the flat sheets 1 and the corrugated sheets 2 which are made of thin metallic plates and laminated alternately one by one in conformity with the outer shape of the block. |
