By positioning the highly concentrated deposition part 10 in the space ranging from the inlet side end face to 10-20mm, it is possible to minimize the increase in heat capacity due to the catalyst deposited layer, to show excellent warm-up performance due to the most favorable condition of the heat transfer from the exhaust gas and to attain the maximum value of the purifying performance at the time of starting the engine.
