<p>PURPOSE: To eliminate the tendency of a valve having a rocker valve member and an isolation diaphragm to leak as operating pressure is increased by allowing the valve member and the diaphragm to remain balanced regardless of the operating pressure being handled. CONSTITUTION: A valve element is formed with a valve chamber 49 communicating with a plurality of ports 42, 43, 44 and at least one of the ports is connected to a source of pressurized fluid. A rocker valve member 50 is pivotally mounted within the valve chamber and swings between two extreme positions in which it closes and opens at least one of the ports. A diaphragm 56 extending from the periphery of the rocker valve member and having its margin secured in the valve element is provided in the valve chamber. The rocker valve member is caused to swing by an operator having a piston 58, and all the ports in the valve element face one side of the diaphragm 56. A part of the valve chamber constitutes a wall facing the side of the diaphragm 56 opposite the side of the diaphragm 56 facing the ports, and the wall is not engaged by the diaphragm.</p> |
