摘要 PURPOSE: To provide a method and device for measuring the average particle size of silver halide particle in a solution or emulsion containing silver ion and excessive halide ion. CONSTITUTION: The potential Ed of silver ion in a solution is measured by a silver electrode, and the potential Ee of silver ion in a solution having infinite silver halide particle is measured by a silver electrode covered with silver halide. The molecular volume V of the solute is calculated, and the average particle size (d) is determined according to the following equation: d=4VS/F(Ed-Ee). In the equation, F represents a Faraday constant, and s represents the surface energy of average particle size per unit area.
