<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently write and read packets, ATM cells, etc., without abandoning them with a simple constitution. CONSTITUTION:A frame byte position detecting circuit 6 detects the intra-frame byte position of each byte data from the STM-4 frame supplied from a transmission line terminating circuit 1 and supplies frame byte position information to a read condition detecting circuit 7. An ATM cell write control circuit 3 writes the ATM cell, which is supplied with a byte as the unit, in a buffer memory 4 and supplies information of the number of written bytes to the read condition detecting circuit 7. This circuit 7 discriminates whether byte data written in the buffer memory 4 can be read out or not based on frame byte position information and information of the number of written bytes. By this discrimination, a read control signal is supplied to an ATM cell read circuit 5 to control the read of the ATM cell.</p> |
