PURPOSE:To further enhance the binding strength of a reinforcing fiber with a matrix resin by improving the reinforcing fiber itself. CONSTITUTION:The reinforcing fiber having an uneven surface and used for resin-based composite materials comprises a raw fiber 1 and glass or metal projections 2 melt-bonded to the surface of the raw fiber. The adhesive force of the reinforcing fiber to a matrix resin is enhanced owing to the anchoring effect of the reinforcing fiber itself.
