PURPOSE:To obtain a path guiding device for a vehicle in which a road in a traffic jam can be predicted when a driver is involved in the traffic jam while traveling on the recommended path. CONSTITUTION:This device is equipped with a traffic jam predicting means 26 which predicts the road in a traffic jam in the recommended paths retrieved by a path retrieving means 24 by using information stored in a road data storage means 28 when the driver is involved in the traffic jam, traffic jam detecting means 23 which detects the presence or absence of the traffic jam based on the operational state of a vehicle such as a traveling speed, braking, gear change, and number of times of acceleration and deceleration, and path retrieving means 24 which retrieves the recommended paths to destination obtained by weighting the road in the traffic jam, and evading the traffic jam. Also, the traffic jam predicting means 26 is equipped with a function which updates the traffic jam statistical data. |
