Piping or cables are driven to pass under a driving wheel (116) in a frame (101) which rests on two lateral sides (101A,101B) in an open trench. A support assembly (119) is formed by two branches (119A,119B) which form a sliding V, respectively on either side the chassis.The support is helped to be pushed upwards by an adjustable force (175) to apply the piping against the wheel (116). This allows the wheel to drive the piping. One of the branches (119A) of the support assembly may be separated from the other and retracted by pivoting under the effect of the piping weight which is then freed.
