PURPOSE:To make an RF checker small in size, light in weight and low in cost, to lower the burden of operator, and to easily and accurately discriminate whether or not the connection condition of a TV cable is normal and the cause of fault. CONSTITUTION:A main body 1 is a receiver receiving a high frequency signal, and provided with at least an input terminal 7, a broad band detection circuit 9, and a display section 5, in which a high frequency signal received from the input terminal 7 is directly detected by the broad band detection circuit 9 without conversion of the high frequency signal into an intermediate frequency signal. An oscillator 15 oscillating a high frequency signal is connected to one end of a TV cable 3 and an RF checker is connected to the other end, the high frequency signal from the oscillator 15 is received by the RF checker to measure the connection conditions of the TV cable 3 as a feature.
