PURPOSE: To provide an ultrasonic waveguide suitable for ultrasonic inspection. CONSTITUTION: An ultrasonic waveguide comprises a tube 4 of which a wall thickness, is thin, and in which the viscous compressive fluid 2 is closely packed, one end of the tube 4 is connected with a transducer 6, the transducer 6 transducer electric energy into ultrasonic energy, and the ultrasonic wave is propagated in the longitudinal direction of the tube. The other end of the tube comprises a window 12 through which the propagated ultrasonic wave is transmitted, or refraction 'shoe' which refracts the propagated ultrasonic wave. The cross section of the tube is almost uniform, and is circular preferred. The inner diameter of the circular tube is within the range of milimeter, and in the range from 0.25mm to 1mm preferred. The material of the wall is metal, plastic, or the mixture of metal and plastic preferred. |
