<p>PURPOSE: To remove impulse noise, even when positive impulse noise co exists with the negative impulse noise by adaptively varying the size of a window by means of the distribution change of a pixel value. CONSTITUTION: A target pixel is median-filtered by a prescribed size window unit, so as to judge whether or not impulse noise exists in a median value. When there is a probability of impulse noise, the window size is increased by a window size adjusting part 41, and then median filtering is executed again. When it is judged that impulse noise does not exist in the median value, it is inspected whether or not an impulse noise exists in the target pixel before filtering. When the possibility of impulse noise exists in the target pixel, the median value is outputted. When it is judged that there is no possibility that it exists, the target pixel value is outputted as it is.</p> |
