The optical sighting (10) of a laser beam in a chosen direction (2) allows orientation to vary over a period of time. The angular deviation (40) of the beam trajectory is modified in response to a control signal (43). A semitransparent plane surface (5) is formed (4) on the beam trajectory to reflect part of the beam towards the detector (30,33).An error signal (31) representative of the deviation of the emergent beam relative to the chosen direction is delivered. A retroactive device (34) has a signal error and a command signal to modify any angular deviation.
