PURPOSE: To reduce the area which becomes the shadow of the surface of a semiconductor wafer, and to improve the conversion efficiency of a photoelectric battery. CONSTITUTION: A photocell, by which optical energy is converted to electric energy, is composed of a photosensitive barrier structure semiconductor wafer 1, a conducting current collecting contact point 2 arranged on both surfaces of the semiconductor wafer 1, a protective coating 3 arranged on both surfaces of the semiconductor wafer 1 and a current lead out electrode. At least the conducting current collecting contact point 2, which is arranged on the front of the semiconductor wafer 1, is formed as an electric connection part with which the contact point 2 comes in contact with and separated from the surface of the wafer 1. |
