PURPOSE:To devise the receiver such that a CRT fluorescent screen is deteriorated uniformly to the utmost by shifting a display position of an input video signal with respect to a preceding display position when the special aspect ratio mode is selected at application of power. CONSTITUTION:Channel selection data, user control data and picture size data or the like are stored in a memory 12 and data in the memory 12 are read by a microcomputer 3. Moreover, a reception section 10 receives a user command signal from a remote commander 11 and the received user command signal is outputted to the microcomputer 3. The microcomputer 3 controls a tuner 2, a video processing circuit 4, and an audio processing circuit 7 or the like based on the user command. A video signal whose aspect ratio is 4:3 is inputted after application of power, and when the special aspect ratio mode is selected, a video image is displayed on a display area whose aspect ratio is 4:3 by using part of a display screen whose aspect ratio is 16:9 and the display position is shifted with respect to a preceding display position. |
