PURPOSE:To make the candidate table display easily visible by making character width of a candidate number changeable, in the system provided with a condidate table display function for giving the candidate number to each of plural candidate character-strings and displaying them. CONSTITUTION:A user inputs character width information for showing character width of a candidate number from a keyboard 100. This character width information is set to a candidate number character width switching file 106. At the time of KANA (Japanese syllabary) to KANJI (Chinese character) conversion, the user inputs reading from the keyboard 100. A candidate character-string group corresponding to reading is fetched from a dictionary 105 by a KANA to KANJI conversion server 104, and delivered to a candidate table generating part 102. Also, a candidate number character width switching part 103 delivers the character width information set in the candidate number character width switching file 106 to the candidate table generating part 102. The candidate table generating part 102 generates candidate table information in which the candidate number of the character width shown by the character width information is given to the candidate character-string group, delivers it to a candidate table display part 107, and displays it in a display device 108. |
