PURPOSE:To provide the video telephone set operated in a response mode suitable for a called terminal equipment in the automatic message reply mode. CONSTITUTION:A selection menu for a recording mode is sent to a communication opposite party at the arrival of a call in the automatic message reply mode, at least either a received video message or a received voice message is stored in a video memory or an audio memory based on the selection of the selected menu by the communication opposite party (steps S206-S209, S212-S214, S216, S218-S220, S222-S223), and the picture is processed corresponding to the motion picture mode, the still picture mode or the document mode selected on the selection menu when video data are recorded (steps S215, S221, S224). |
