PURPOSE:To prevent a user, etc., from touching an electrode at work and to prevent the damage of an equipment caused by that and image defect caused by the damage by opening/closing a cover protecting an electrostatically charging roller being a contact electrostatically charging electrode member while interlocking with the attachment/detachment action of a photosensitive drum. CONSTITUTION:A supporting member 12 made of a resin supporting a protecting cover 14 made of the resin is slidably arranged on the shaft 11 of the electrostatically charging roller 1, and is joined with the protecting cover 14 with a joining member 13. The driving member of the cover attached to a front door moves in a roller shaft direction by the opening/closing of the front door. When the front door is opened in the case or maintenance such as time for processing paper jamming, time for exchanging the photosensitive drum 3, the electrostatically charging roller 1 is pulled upward by a spring carried by a main body so as to be separated from the photosensitive drum 3, and while interlocking with that, the cover 14 covers and protects the electrostatically charging roller 1 with the spring carried by the main body as shown in the figure. When the front door is closed, the driving member moves in the shaft direction, the supporting member 12 moves upward along the inclined surface of the driving member, so that the cover 14 moves. |
