PURPOSE:To make the timbre and musical performance expression of a musical sound which can be generated rich by freely substituting a musical sound having another timbre for part of a musical sound having a timbre other than a normal timbre. CONSTITUTION:When a key is depressed in insertion table setting mode, a musical sound with a timbre (normal sound, drum sound, vibraphone sound, or sampling sound) of an insertion table assigned to the key is generated and at this time, a numeral is inputted with numeric keys 7 to replace the contents of the insertion table at the position of the note code of the key. With a key depressed in sampling mode, a sampling sound in a waveform RAM 11 is generated at the pitch of the note code corresponding to the key and with a sampling start key depressed, an ADC 8 samples an external speech. Then the sampled value is transferred to and stored in the waveform RAM 11. |
