<p>PURPOSE: To provide a camera which automatically selects a certain focal distance and a pseudo-telephoto mode in the case a user selects a long focal distance. CONSTITUTION: This camera has a lens for photographing a picture capable of positioning plural lens at focal distances, a lens selecting means 16 for selecting a desired focal distance from plural focal distances, and a photodetector 35 judging that it is a low light quantity condition of insufficient ambient light. This camera is provided with a control means 34 which positions the lens for photographing the picture at the lens-focal distance shorter than the lens-focal distance selected by the user and capable of being utilized, in response to the low light quantity condition, and also by which the camera is set in the pseudo-telephoto mode.</p> |
