<p>PURPOSE:To provide the spatial optical modulator which simultaneously attains writing and reading out of two-dimensional parallel information by light of the same wavelength and low-voltage driving of the optical writing type spatial optical modulator and facilitates position adjustment at the time of incorporation into a system. CONSTITUTION:This spatial optical modulator has the constitution laminated with a layer 111 which consists of a first semiconductor contg. a p-type impurity in contact with a first electrode 117, a layer 112 which consists of the first semiconductor having a low electric conductivity, a layer 113 which is a layer consisting of a semiconductor contg. an n-type impurity and having band gap energy larger than the band gap energy of the first semiconductor and is multilayered films having staircase reflection spectral characteristics, etc., in a specific wavelength region, a layer 114 which is a layer consisting of a semiconductor contg. a p-type impurity and having band gap energy larger than the band gap energy of the first semiconductor and is multilayered films having staircase reflection spectral characteristics, etc., in a specific wavelength region and a layer 115 which consists of an insulator in contact with a second electrode 116.</p> |
