The present invention relates to a stapling machine, intended, in particular, for assembling plane elements, this machine comprising a bearing plane over which elements to be stapled are required to proceed and a stapling device (2, 10) mounted on the frame (1) of the machine, opposite the bearing plane, so as to be capable of oscillating about an axis (X). This machine comprises means for varying the amplitude of the oscillations of the stapling device (2, 10), which consist of a mechanism for adjusting the distance of the pivoting axis (X) of the stapling device (2, 10) relative to the bearing plane of the elements to be stapled. This adjusting mechanism preferably comprises a pivoting arm (19), with an angular position which can be adjusted, at the end of which is pivotably mounted, about the axis (X), a guide sleeve (22) in which slides a connecting rod (14) coupling the stapling device (2, 10) to its actuating mechanism (4, 15).
