PURPOSE: To safely protect computer facilitates by confirming respective responses as the functions of respective challenges and interrupting data connection, when confirmation is indicated that one of the responses is not confirmed. CONSTITUTION: When an ID number of a transmission modem is received, a CPU 210 processes a correspondent data cryptographic key from a key list 221. Afterwards, the CPU 210 generates random numbers as challenges and transmits them to an oscillation modem. The oscillation modem enciphers the challenges, generates responses, and returns them to a modem 200. When the decoded response does not match the challenge, the CPU 210 transmits 'access refused' and interrupts data connection. When the decoded response matches the challenge, the CPU 210 does not connect data but checks whether or not the challenge of recertification is completed. When the challenge of re- certification is completed, the transfer of data information is enabled between the modem 200 and the oscillation modem.
