PURPOSE:To automatically recover any fault generated at a copy machine in the system for the centralized control of an image recorder while connecting a host and the copy machine with a telephone line when the fault can be recovered. CONSTITUTION:When any fault is generated at a copy machine 1, a controller 4 for controlling and managing the copy machine 1 transfers all the data required for fault diagnosis to a fault diagnostic means 5. A control part 6 of the fault diagnostic means 5 judges the kind of fault by applying previously set fault diagnostic rules to the transferred data and changes parameters for controlling the operations of this copy machine concerning this fault. Thus, when it is judged that the fault can be recovered, it is automatically recovered by changing the parameters related to this fault. |
