<p>PURPOSE:To reduce a calculation quantity and dispersion by storing a motion vector of one preceding coding block detected in the order of coding block scanning and detecting a motion vector while the center of searching is changed. CONSTITUTION:A macro block counter 1 counts macro blocks and an MC detector 2 detects an MC vector while selecting a search offset (SO) and a search range (SR). A reset discrimination circuit 3 outputs a reset signal when the counter 1 generates a search error exceeding a prescribed degree. An output vector detected by the detector 2 is stored by a delay circuit 4 until such time as the counter 1 outputs a succeeding count and it is outputted to the detector 2 as an SO vector varying a center point of search. A delay circuit 5 selects the SR based on a search error from the detector 2 according to the count output of the counter 1 and stores one preceding vector in the order of coding block scanning and the MC is detected by centering the position. Thus, the calculation quantity and dispersion are reduced.</p> |
