<p>PURPOSE:To provide a variable length decoder for separating and outputting input variable length encoded data to variable length data and fixed length data and for providing to be decoded in a short period of time. CONSTITUTION:A burrel shifter (A) 10 supplies the input variable length encoded data at first one clock input to the address input of a ROM (A) 12 with a shift amount $0'. The ROM (A) 12 outputs a code length corresponding first one variable length part data stored beforehand, the code length of first fixed length part data and the code length of first variable length encoded data, and by using the data, the burrel shifter (B) 11 shifts and outputs the input variable length encoded data by the code length of a variable length part and supplied to the ROM (B) 13. The ROM (B) supplies the data supplied from the burrel shifter (B) 11 and the code length of the first one fixed length part data to the address input and outputs the corresponding first one fixed length part data stored beforehand.</p> |
