PURPOSE:To always perform the range-finding of an appropriate position on a photographic image plane by selecting a range-finding point outputting range-finding data submitted for the calculation of the driving amount of a photographing lens in accordance with at least one of print format, focal distance information and positional information on the photographic image plane. CONSTITUTION:A microprocessor 1, a format selection means 2, a vertical/horizontal detection means 3 detecting the vertical position and the horizontal position of the image plane at the time of photographing, a focal distance detection circuit 4 detecting the focal distance of a photographing lens, a light projecting element selecting and driving circuit 5 selecting and driving a light projecting element, and light projecting elements 14 to 18 fixed to a camera main body so that they may project light at a specified angle to the optical axis of the photographing lens are provided.
