PURPOSE: To assemble a pad and prevent the disassembling by providing a hook and a rail part on half bodies of a spacer pad, respectively. CONSTITUTION: The top of a control rod 10 has four panels 12, these panels 12 are mutually crossed to form a cross, and a handle 14 is extended upward. Each panel 12 has an opening 16 having a diameter D1. The first shaft part 24 of a spacer pad 20 is connected to a second shaft part 28. A second head 26 comprises an annular column 40, and the annular hook 42 of the column 40 is engagingly locked by an annular rail part 44 within the cavity 36 of a first head 22. When half bodies 20a, 20b of the pad 20 are assembled, the rail part 44 is engagingly locked by the hook 42 or butted thereto to prevent the disassembling of the first and second shaft parts 24, 28. First and second threads 32, 34 make it relatively easy to fasten the half bodies 20a, 20b of the pad by the screwing action in assembling, and also prevent the half bodies 20a, 20b from being released by the thermal expansion and vibration caused within a reactor core.
