Thread tension device

An attachment is made to a supply reel in order to control the material as it is wound off. This consists of at least one arm sprung to one side of the reel, with a top brake, surrounding the reel in such a manner that the drag by the unwinding material creates a tension on the reel.The arm (3) is made of spring material, to lie against the max. winding of the reel (8) which constantly presses against one side (16), as the reel is unwound from the open side (15). The arm is anchored at the base to fit on the centre (11) against the base (4). A centre tube (5) fits on the centre (11) to keep it rigid. The reel tube (9) supports the thread or similar material.
