In the glass fibre distribution box (1), the splice modules (7) are arranged in the lower part of the box with the connection cables (2, 3) ending in the upper part and their waveguide fibres (15) feeding into the splice modules (7). Each module, coupling (6), plug (5) and cable storage (4) module, has the same height and is arranged in rows on above the other. Between each row flat cable loop storage areas (12) are provided.
