The invention relates to a folding box (10) with a rectangular or square base to take elongated items, especially several upright flat portion bags, in which a first side wall (1), a front wall (2), a second side wall (3) opposite the first and a rear wall (4) opposite the front abut the base, and with a top folding box closure (12, 13). It is the aim of the invention to construct an easily handled folding box of this kind which is material-saving and environmentally friendly in such a way that, while being easy to remove, its contents are partly visible from outside even with the box closed and, owing to easily accessible larger information areas on the inside surfaces of the box, loose leaflets can be avoided. To achieve this, a feature of a folding box of the kind described in the preamble according to the invention is that the side walls (1, 3) extend from the base to a height of about 1/3 to 2/3 of the length of the items to be packed, while the front wall (2) and the rear wall (4) cover the entire height of the packed items, the box closure joins the upper edges of the front and rear walls so as to be easily released and the front and rear walls (2, 4) can be spread apart at their upper ends without side wall when the box closure (12, 13) is released. |
