<p>In a spinning machine (20) with a sliver feed (20) consisting of cans (22), a false-twist device (12) is arranged, upstream of the drawframe (16) having the pair of draw-in rollers (17), in the immediate vicinity of the roller surfaces of the pair of draw-in rollers (17). The distance (D) between the rotor (120) of the false-twist device (12) and the nip (K) of the pair of draw-in rollers (17) is not to be grater than the mean fibre length of the sliver (13).
