Banisters are mfd. from a frame comprising an upper tubular beam and a lower tubular beam (2), with a grid of bars (8), which are inserted in radial holes (6) in the beams so that their ends bear on the wall opposite the holes. The ends of the beams are bent over and welded together and the assembly is galvanised.
