PURPOSE:To provide a fireproof electric wire which can stand a temperature of not less than 840 deg.C by using a natural mica layer together with a hydroxide coat layer of specified thickness, made of aluminium hydroxide and/or magnesium hydroxide, for the coat of a conductor. CONSTITUTION:Each conductor 1 has a fireproof coat layer 2 placed upon its peripheral face. The fireproof coat layer 2 is placed upon the peripheral face of the conductor 1 by wrapping a mica tape 2 for a fireproof electric wire, prepared through the process of sticking a soft composite mica layer 4 to the obverse of glass cloth 3 with a silicone resin and further placing a hydroxide coat layer 6 made of aluminium hydroxide and/or magnesium hydroxide and having not less than 30g/m<2> in the amount of its applied hydroxide coating upon the back face of the glass cloth 3, around the conductor 1. The fireproof coat layer 2 has a first resin coat layer 7 placed upon its peripheral face. Three coated conductors prepared through such a process like this are formed in a set to be subsequently coated with a third resin coat layer 9 via a second resin coat layer 8 so as to be protected. Plural 3-piece sets of these coated conductors are then received in a metallic conduit. |
