Computer-aided route navigation system for land vehicle

The route guidance system has a unit for monitoring vehicle distance and speed, and provides coding of values into a form for entry into the microprocessor-based computer. An EEPROM memory is provided for the operating program and a RAM for buffer storage of measured values.The computer connects via an I/O bus with an I/O module that uses floppy disks to store the cartographic information used by the system. Other units included in the I/O module are a keyboard, monitor, loudspeaker, radio telephone and CD-ROM. Destination and initial start point data can be entered via the keyboard.
