The invention relates to a process and a device for producing conical paper bags from paper coated with a synthetic resin, in which process (a) the coating is fused or (b) molten synthetic resin for polymerisation is applied or sprayed onto a desired region of an uncoated (plain) paper or (c) molten synthetic resin is applied to the paper and the thus coated region is heated and fused and polymerised by heating so that automatic mass production at a high rate can be implemented.
