Improved resin-coated carbon fibres (1) are obtained by heat treatment of carbon fibres covered with an aromatic sulphone resin at 300 to 400 deg.C. The heat resistant resin compsn. comprises (1) (5-50 wt.%) and a heat-resistant resin (95-50 wt.%). The heat-resistant resin is selected from polyether sulphone, polyetherimide, polysulphone, polyamideimide, polyimide, polyphenylene sulphide, polyether ether ketone, aromatic polyester or polyetherketone. The parts for an internal combustion engine, particularly impellers of integral-type-centrifugal compressors, are made from the heat-resistant compsn. |
