The disclosure relates to a pedestal (10) for a camera having a wheel mounted base (11), an upright column (12) mounted on the base for rotation about a vertical axis (18) and an extendable counter-balanced arm (13) having a camera support (14) at one end and mounted on the column to tilt about a horizontal axis (20). The column is coupled to a steering mechanism (30, 32, 33, 34) for the base wheels so that rotation of the arm with respect to the base effects a corresponding steering movement of the wheels. Thus, as the operator moves the camera in a particular direction, the arm steers the base to follow automatically in the same direction. |
