The locking arrangement is for a vehicle. It incorporates a key consisting of a rotatable shaft (1) which is free to swivel through an angle (alpha), and has a driving paddle (13) on its end. The paddle has at least two blades (16) which engage in grooves in the inside of a housing (21). The blades on the paddle are tapered at the ends in order to accommodate the angle of tilt (alpha) of the shaft, and the outer surfaces (14) of the paddle blades are arcs of circles. The housing (3) of the locking arrangement has a conical entry portion (31) leading the end of the shaft (1) into the grooved housing.
