One arm (5) of the holder is for fixing to a wall-capping, roof-shuttering, while the other arm (3) accommodates a clamp or support. The first arm (5) of the holder (1) is adjustable for length. It can be in two parts telescoping together, one of them fixed to the second arm, and guided to minimise tilting or deflection. Fixing devices (13) can be provided, so as to secure the two parts in position in relation to each other, while further such devices (12) on the movable part can secure it to the capping etc.
