The reel has three of more axial rollers (2) spaced around the real axis as well as rollers (3) to guide the windings of the hose (1). The roller supports are radially adjustable to change the effective diameter of the reel and hence the length of hosepipe wound onto the reel.The roller supports have radial slot supports at one end (5) and strap slot supports at the other end, with the spiral slot supports rotated by a servo motor (8) to change the reel diameter. One end of the hose is attached to a fixed coupling (6) on the reel.
